The electric choke on my quadrajet didn’t work when I bought it, the butterfly valve is too loose. I’ve put manual choke cables on other carbs before but I’m not so sure it would work on this one, as I tried choking it by putting a small vise grips on the lip of the barrel, stopping up the butterfly valve, and when it (barely) started, the throttle wasn’t delivering gas, altho the throttle valve was moving fine. Just curious if anybody out there has had success converting to the cable choke. Mine is a 17061707. It starts ok in summer. Thanks
