Lowering question

Since bags aren't in the budget anytime soon :( looking into a wallet friendly 4/6 drop..will be running 15" rally's. Question is, I have my eyeballs on a western chassis kit, 4/6 drop, the kit just has the flip kit and the coils...no spindles..should I spend a few bucks more for the spindles or just stick to kit with lowering springs?

It it were me...I would opt to lower with spindles, springs and the flip kit. If you decide AFTER installing the drop coils, you can always reinstall the oem coils. You will of course also have to get new front shocks and rear.

How much are the drop spindles? 2" drop?....with just spindles you probably wont have issues. If you combine the springs with the spindles, then yes you may have scuffing issues.....
It really depends on how tall of a sidewall you have. With oem rally wheels and the lack of offset, you will need a smaller profile tire . With a 4 inch drop in front, you may have slight scuffing when the suspension gets close to bottoming out. Some people have replaced their bottom bumpstops with polyurethane to prevent bottoming out. The oem bumpstops are soft rubber and flatten out easily.

Awesome thank you! I have 255/70/15 on now, maybe go down to a 60 sidewall? With a 60 would I be able to get a 4" drop?

That should work. The question is the offset of your wheels and inner fender clearance may be tight. Just remember...low sidewall and narrow tire. A 305x40x22 for example is a wide low profile tire, but if it is mounted on too narrow a wheel the tire height will increase since the width is being "squeezed" in order to fit the narrow wheel.

Gotcha, I'll see what it looks like once I get sun parts on, just sold my old jeeps mud grapplers, gives me an excuse to buy more tires if need be

Not with Western Chassis spindles for 1.25" wide discs. I don't know if the same is true for Bell Tech, McGaughy, and others.
