Lowering 85 C10

Thinking of lowering my 85 C10 Chevy, would like some input. I and wanting to do a 2 inch the front and 2 to 3 inch in the back I was thinking of using 2 inch lowering springs in the front, but wasn't sure about the rear , undecided about the rear which would be better flip kit or shackles? Any ideas or suggestions?

A flip kit in the rear will give you 5-6" of drop.

To get 2 only you can use a shackle. If you want more than 2 you'd need a drop hanger and a shackle.

For the front I would recommend starting with a drop spindle. You get the drop with no effect on suspension travel or ride quality.

So in the rear I would only have to use a shackle? And not a hanger and shackle, that shouldn't change my pinion angle enough to worry about correct? Thanks

The pinion angle will be fine.

A shackle gives 2" of drop and so does a hanger. If you want 3" of rear drop you'll have to use both. Most shackles actually have 2 holes, one for 1" drop an the other is 2", some hangers offer that as well.

I was looking online where belltech has a 2in inch lowering coil spring and a 4in lowering hanger and shackle with for Street performance shocks, on that could I just use the shackle and not the hanger the part number is 703 SP

No I don't need to go look, I've lowered several trucks. I know what the parts are an what they do.

If all you really want is the 2" drop save yourself some money, buy the springs and shackles seperate. You don't need drop shocks for that minimal of a drop.

I actually sell crown suspension parts an for $178 plus shipping I will send you 2" drop springs and 2" shackles.

If you want to go cheap, cut 1 coil out of front springs, which will get you 2" drop. Then , in rear use 2" shackles and also remove the. thick bottom leaf from the rear springs.
It will get you about another inch. Done.
