I need to fit a wider tire in the rear of my lowered C20, the stock size tires (235/85r16) tuck under, and i want the larger tire to tuck under too.
I plan to drag race and needed more tire. I ordered a 20x9 to fit over the giant brake drums with the necessary backspace for a 295/50r20 tire (the widest that still can support the trucks weight and have some sidewall height).
The wheel has 5.5" backspace, but when i bolt up the unmounted wheel, the outside face of the wheel lip is only 1/4" inside the bed fender lip opening, the bulge of the side wall will hit the metal lip .
I dont want to hack the wheel openings and would consider rolling them but have not done so before. Anyone have any ideas?
