Now that we are getting some cooler weather, time to get to work on mt 84 C10.
Suspension rebuilding is next on the list.
I have removed the left side arms and bushings.
I have found that the lower bushings are nothing close to a snug fit to the cross shaft.
Is this normal???
The shafts measure about .998" OD, the bushings are 1.040" ID........
That seems excessive.
The old inner sleeve measures about 1.010" ID, but there is a bit of rust there...

I wire brushed the rust off the shaft ends, but did not remove any metal.

I just called Moog Tech support.
Their K6137 should be 1.006" I.D.
Looks like I have some parts t return to LMC....................

There's cooler weather in MS?

I would have thought it would less than that. Don't they have to use a press the bushing on the cross shaft as well as the A arm?

I believe that to be the case with the upper for sure.
I contacted Moog for dimensions on both upper and lower bushings,
and their dimensions are much tighter than those of the LMC supplied parts.
The upper bushings are way too large also.
The Moog bush is .752" and the LMC measures .760" for a .750" shaft.
Sooooooooo.............

Ok so my cross shaft comes to .998 same as yours.
The energy suspension bushing is 1.016.
This also seems excessive to me .
Maybe someone else will chime in with more expertise than me

I guess that nothing is easy anymore.
The K6137 Moog bushings were ordered from Amazon, but shipped from 2 different sources.
One box is just labeled "Moog"
Those bushings measured 1.006" and 1.012" I.D.
The other was in a box labeled "Moog Problem Solver."
Those measured 1.030" I.D....................!!!!!!!!!!
I again called Moog, who verified that the spec called fo a range of 1.002" - 1.012"
The first pair is to spec......the 2nd pair NOT !!!
And, the "Problem Solver" bushings have an inner sleeve that is not serrated at either end.......
So, back to amazon the "Problem Solver" bushings go.
I will heck the replacements upon arrival.

And the beat goes on..................

Energy suspension ones are not serrated either. At this point I am considering having some machined .020 play seems like way too much. It would be great if someone made a greasable one

The design is for the shaft NOT to rotate in the bushing. The shaft is s'posed to lock the bushing center sleeve tightly, having all movement coming from within the elastomer.
That is why the shaft nuts are supposed to be torqued with weight on the suspension.
