Electric fan should yield ~10 HP
Vortec heads would gain around 40 HP
Edelbrock Performer intake w/ TBI adapter might gain you 10 or so HP
New bumpstick like a Performer Plus could get you 20-30 HP
Headers might net 10 HP
Hotter coil could do maybe 5 HP and crisper throttle response
Tune up the whole distributor, engine, maybe run a little lighter oil, maybe squeeze a fresh 100 HP out of your engine, you'd think it was a brand new one (practically would be too lol except rings/bearings).

Interesting. I may do some of these my self...

Electric fans make a difference. I did e-fans on my 95 blazer, a shift kit, and new coil and I gained around 7 tenths of a second on my ET at the track.

I'd get a cam and a tune if it was me.

Gears are a far better bang for your buck, especially with oversize tires on stock half ton axles.

Totally agree...this should probably be the first mod to be done, then work on the rest of the drivetrain, that way, myou dont spend a shitload of money on building an engine that is way more than what you need to accomplish what you want.

The ECM has to be tuned to run properly with Vortec heads.

hello im new to this site. but anyways i have a 77 k20 wit ha 350/350 and i upgraded to a dual cold air intake carb hat or a carb plenum. built mine for under 200 with 2 k and n filters, the more cold air the better she will run, and switch to the e-3 spark plugs, electric fans will free up some hp also like you were thinking.

Didn't see an intro thread for ya. Welcome aboard, I used to live up in Clearfield, I am down by Philly now.

How do you like those e3 plugs?

For anyone with TBI, the CFM-tech super sucker TB spacer, and a jet adjustable fuel regulator have a noticeable gain for under $150. Also, from the factory, TBI fuel pressures differed as much as 3 psi from the 13 psi that is advertised....just a regulator would be a good start, as well as nice clean fuel injectors, and an all AC Delco tune up.

I will be tapping your shoulder someday to walk me through some of htat stuff when I get the time and money, lol...

I still need to check that label on the computer too... :shitsweak:
