Im looking for a seat cover to replace my old indian blanket style cover. Its formed a hole, its really dirty, and im not the biggest fan of it. Think its tine to retire it. My seat is immaculate underneath, and id like to keep it that way.
So im looking for something that fits a squarebody bench seat pretty decently, looks okay, but isnt like super super expensive.
Id prefer cloth, and id love it to be brown.
What would you all suggest?

I'm in the same boat! I'm considering the custom fit cover made out of the Carhartt material. It complements my saddle color interior. Pretty sure it will outlast the truck.

I’d say, no point in trying to save 35 year old vinyl or cloth seat cover “for a rainy day”. One f these days you’ll remove the aftermarket cover and it’ll be cracked/torn/dry rotted anyway.
Although if it’s cloth and you can’t manage to keep it clean then I suppose another seat cover may be in order.
$350 for a new OE looking cover (that requires installation) or something like a carharrt cover for $130-150 are 2 viable options. Imo.
Anything “custom” and you may as well just get a premade new OE style seat cover and use it as an excuse to rebuild the foam and/or clean out the 30 year old frito chips, dust bunnies, spilt hot chocolate and lost tools out from under the seat!

Covercraft precision covers. Kinda pricey $400, but they are foam backed and have pockets. I've been thinking about it for awhile now.

The one you have now is classic... I have a green one in my '69 c10. My dad had them in every Chevy he had... haha

Granted, they aren't the best but they work and give a classic look to the truck with a bench seat.

A pic during to build

Thats what i was thinking too. Id just use it as is, and enjoy it, but i use it as a truck, and i know me, ill spill something, or get in with grease on my butt, and reck it. It look so nice, i couldnt do that.

I actaully like the look of them too, think they look classic and fitting of such a truck, especially the color is perfect, but i dont like the oddly greasy/plasticy feel of the material, and plus a bunch of people i know hate them, so i thought maybe a change was due.
Do you know if they make those in a different material?

@AyWoSch Motors Check this thread: I'm a big fan of saddle blanket or like you called it Indian blanket seat covers. And I'm a huge fan of seatcoverman.com but he closed in 2020 and hasn't re-opened yet. I just couldn't see spending $200 on a cover that I'd get dirty and stain right away. So I bought universal saddle blanket, bench cover made by seat covers unlimited a nearly 1 1/2 ago. It was $40 it doesn't move around on the seat and is holding up great. If you go to the thread I linked above I give a one year up date, it's post #41. To be clear the brand is seat covers unlimited, but I bought it on amazon.

It is held on with several straps with plastic buckles on them, and woven laces on the sides to cinch them tight. Probably the only seat covers I have ever used that don't come loose, ever. Fairly easy to remove.

I know you want to get away from this but it's reasonably priced and has the seatbelt cut-outs that I assume are in the somewhat correct place.
