My brother bought a 1984 chevy 2WD truck with plans to lift. After researching, I quickly found out they no longer sell lift kits. I've ran across a thread where someone lifted his 73 GM 2WD using the Rough Country Spindle lift kit and replacing the lower control arm with that of a C30, but retaining the upper control arm. He supplied a detailed list of parts needed. This was done in 2011. I've tried to contact the person to see how the modification stood up over the years, but am having trouble getting in touch. Anyone else out there lift your 2WD square body? How about pics for a body lift? I've searched that as well on line and haven't found any. Thanks,

How high are you wanting to lift it? Back in the mid 90's on my '80 C20 3+3 I ran Air Lift air bags in the front coils and a 2" block in the rear. The bags gave me about 2" of lift. I ran 33x12.50x16.5 tires with 9.75 wide wheels. I had to do some minor trimming to the front fenders. If you ran narrower rims you probably would not have to. When I sold the truck, I move the parts to an '88 C20 ban. Between the 2 trucks I ran it that way for 4 years with no issues.

If the truck has a sb in it, use BB with AC coils up front.

I worked with a guy who had a lifted truck. Everyone thought it was a four wheel drive but one day I noticed it was 2wd. He was surprised it took so long for someone to notice. He simply bought some of those "twist-in" lugs that you put in between the coil spring coils. I've heard they aren't a good idea but he ran that truck for years without any problem.
