I'm just a little south of you Kevin.
Prescott, AZ here.
That's where I do my shopping.
You may have seen one or both of my trucks in the city.
Almost every trip in, somebody recognizes me and waves as we pass on the street.

It's six miles of dirt/mud/rocks to get to pavement from my off grid cabin, then I can enjoy a nice ride.
You mentioned you're looking forward to driving the dirt roads in the pines, I have been exploring northern AZ since 83 and there are LOTS of cool places to go and see and even camp and find some gold.

Here's a pic of what I deal with when the weather turns crappy.

Finally got the 87 out on some dirt outside Prescott, AZ with my son and our ranch dog.

Looks like my '90 except mine was the reverse color combo (mostly white with blue on the sides) and mine was a GMC.
