The black part under the truck? that's the new bumper for it. just need to respray the top coat. The silver one has a couple of dings and wowees in the character lines that would have been a bitch to put right.

The funny part, is that I realized that the full width step will look odd on the stepside bed, so the silver bumper will get narrowed to fit. I THINK I can section it in a way that will cut out the dings, and still keep all the features of the D30. As long as I can get my bandsaw to make a straight cut, or close to straight cut.

Actually, a chopsaw wouldn't be a bad idea either. The bandsaw may work ok though, I just haven't played with it much since I brought it home. It may take a few minor tweaks, but there shouldn't be any reason why it won't make a straight cut if I spend some time with it.

even If I get it close and finish with a flap wheel I'd be ok with the procedure.

Band saw blades flex a lot when you spread the guide rollers out unless you have one of them big sumbitchs with a 1” tall blade that an 1/8” thick

Yup just gotta clean the edges well to get the crap that the death wheel leaves behind or use a fancy diamond steel one.

lol. go ahead and laugh at the jigsaw. That's 3/16 steel that wraps around the rear of the jeep tub. The jigsaw is what I used to cut it. Easy to control, and make fine adjustments as you cut.

To me that just don’t look right on a Blazer are the Blazer bumpers that intrusive?

The blazer bumpers are actually what a lot of the guys use on their C10's when they don't want a roll pan but still want a tucked in bumper.

Here's a fellow who did a decent video of his on ytube...
