Heres a pic of the K&N we use on our DIRT Hobby stock.The moroso foam cover keeps most of the majior crud out.If ya look close you can see small stones in the k&N.This car is run @ Reno Fernley raceway in the middle of the Desert,dry dusty hot.Its the only setup that works with constant upkeep.They also work on our tow rig 2000 gmc 6.0 with a MAF sensor as long as you dont over oil them.A little brake clean takes care of the MAF if it gets oiled,and you will know it if it dose.

I run paper filters after seeing a layer of dust in the intake tube of my K&N cold air kit. The whopping 5hp loss doesn't bother me much...
