does anyone have experience with these?
Im curious if the Restosound brand, which is a full replacement panel(s), is better than the half panel versions.

I have seen a brand called Q forms in the past that were supposed to be good. The sound quality is good better than in the door or dash corners.

I'm sure they will function quite well. All someone did was make a mold of a kick panel and add an additional spot for the speaker. Nothing to be worried about. Otherwise 6"speakers will work in a regular kick panel.

This really comes down to the quality of your sound system. Imo, speaker placement is secondary

As in, people have cut holes in the factory kick panels and installed speakers?

Yeah, but you have to cut into the cab and then the speakers are exposed to the elements.

Yeah I don’t think I’ll be cutting into my cab anymore than I have already done.
I’m kinda anti modifying cabs seeing as how my last one rusted to hell and back for similar reasons.
My system is nice enough, setup quite well and done professionally
I just want something that goes into the truck and looks good. I already know it’ll sound good

I’m sure there are 1000s of people who would disagree with this particular statement.
However I have two 12s behind the seat with 2 6x9s in a custom enclosure
I also want two 6.5s up front to give me that surround and I plan on doing the highliner headliner if I’m not happy with the sound as it were.

Nice, man.
I was thinking about putting a couple behind the seat, too. Something slim.

I just have the stock speakers in the dash and behind the seat now. And I mean stock stock. There's a ton of dirt in the dash ones and they look like **** to the point where I can't even put it back together knowing they look like that.
So I've been looking for replacements for those for now. Thinking just kickers or something, but if you know of any decent cheap little guys, I'm listening.

I like the hertz brand a lot.
I think you get good sound quality for the price.
But speakers are one of those things that the amount someone wants to spend is completely different from person to person.
This is my behind the seat setup.
My wife won’t ride in a truck without music. I toook that as an excuse to put in a decent setup.

Haha....thats sweet!
I actually have a box out in my shed. It was in my buddy's Jeep when he rolled it. I had forgotten about them because it was years ago.
I don't think it'll fit in the square, but maybe I could get the speakers. They're 10 or 12.

Never heard of Hertz. I'll check them out.
I'm not really a high end speaker guy, just something that doesn't sound too bad or cost toooooo much.

I urge everyone that has a speaker that is just placed in a hole to add these. In doors and kick panels they will protect your speakers from elements but best of all they will act as an enclosure and allow the speaker to produce the sound you expect to hear from them instead of just sounding like a cheap tweeter.

Doesn't those speakers get kicked alot (thus the name 'kick panel') or exposed with snow or mud on shoes, etc. ?

Thats whats always made me avoid them. I cant see them surviving long. I also cant imagine them sounding great....ears hear better than ankles. Dunno.

When the time comes I'm going to do something in the doors - even if its something custom with a spacer or a custom panel. Newer high end speakers are getting really slim.....course, they cost a kidney, but a great trade when looking for room.
