A new member @Luke Courtney posted a question in another thread, not to put him on the spot, and I feel it needed more attention, being how big the project actually is. He had said:

Hey guys, I’m new to the forum. Very interesting so far. I have a 1988 K30 3+3 crew cab I’m shortening to a short bed. I have looked and looked and looked for specs on how much to cut off. I cannot find anything except one guy saying I should cut off 14” right behind the cab. Do you guys have any idea or can you point me in the right direction?

I actually have a Square Body book and it does touch on the short bed conversion. I scanned the pages for you, it does seem to be a lot of useful information. Good luck!

I'm confused... is he trying to fit a short bed on the crew cab? I'm concerned that If he has to ask... he probably doesn't have the skills to do the job right.

no he was asking where to cut the frame to shorten it for a short bed. should be the same as a pick up, just for a crew tho. i think haha
