Ok i have a question on my 76 k10 the top gasket for the plate that has the adjusting nut on it is leaking. Is there a part number for the gasket(o-ring) i bought a rebuild kit and it wasnt included i can get a different kit with it but id hate to have all those extra seals

This is a service manual for a 95 tahoe I believe, but a steering gear is a steering gear. In fig. 10, "B" points to the side cover and in fig. 11, "C" points to the adjuster nut on top of the side cover. I believe you are talking about the side cover gasket that is leaking.

Now that we know the name, let's hunt for the part #... I feel like sherlock holmes

I found a couple seal kits that have the "side cover seal" or whatever its name is on your vehicle. Part #'s 36-35034 and 36-351120 both have seals to fit your trucks side cover. I believe its the large square-ish gaskets on the top.

I searched with your trucks model year and make. And a 5.7l with 49 state emissions.
