I am happy to share any information that may help others who enjoy working on and driving these classic trucks.
I have spent a ton of time researching and documenting the process of my builds so feel free to ask why it takes so long to get er dun.
I have an 1986 Silverado 1 Ton crew cab dually 468 on propane with SM465 coupled to a gear vendors overdrive with a 410 Dana 70 Detroit locker Diff. Constant upgrades since 2002 purchased.
I also have an 1981 GMC short wheelbase "trailering special" originally 305 3 speed auto upgraded to 1974 400 bored to 408 cid ,upgraded 1986 700R4 Tow spec and 12 bolt Eaton posi with axles. This truck was purchased new by a good friend and I ended up rebuilding it after 220,000 km of neglect and rust. I took it to the bare frame and cab then bought all original panels before painting the original color plus clear coat back in the mid nineties. It was used to tow my 30 foot fifth wheel until I got the one ton Silverado in 2002.
Both of these trucks are fully optioned and are driven daily. Not exactly stock but not show vehicles either. I continue with old school technology and refuse to lower, ls swap or aftermarket wheels.
I will answer genuine questions but will ignore the critics and boastful. We are all entitled to follow our own dreams whatever they look like and appreciate the accomplishments of others.
