Hello All. New to the forum and square body trucks. I've been lurking the past week or so. Well, today I went and picked up my first square, an '86 C30 Silverado 1 ton 3+3 crew cab. She's packing the typical 454/TH400. I found her over in Indiana on Craigslist for a reasonable price.
The seller included a set of replacement rockers and a rust free front driver side fender. The whole deal took a week or two, during which I asked for pics of the underside of the cab. It was found that one of the tanks was wet, so the seller replaced both tanks, sending units, the control valve, and the switch in the cab. What a deal. It has a fresh set of tires too. I guess I'll be focusing on the body, since the usual maintenance items have been dealt with.
Just a question it have the controller and emblems for a Dual Range unit, but I haven't been able to really get under the truck yet. It's bee raining most of the day and I don't have the garage space to pull the truck in to look it over. Would these items be of any value should the truck no longer have the over/under drive unit?
I've attached a pic from the ad to show her off a little. Currently, the running boards are off from the gas tank replacement.
