Hey folks,
Here looking for build / project advice. Bought a '76 C10 in the spring of 2020 for a couple of reasons:
- Need a truck to do yard work (even it's a 2wd step side)
- Want something to work on / learn on and figure I can't screw this up too bad
Basic details:
- 1976 C10
- 283 V8
- 350 3 Speed TH transmission (converted from manual to auto)
- B&M Shift Kit
- Some other engine mods that I'm not quite sure on
Replaced (when bought):
- Speedometer Cable
- Idle Arm
- Wheel Bearings
- Door locks
- Tail light
- Transmission Mount
Parts purchased (to install):
- Sheetmetal: Cab Floors (both sides - including cab floor half / cab floor drop in - may have gone overboard), Floor Supports (both sides), cab mounts, outer rocker panels (both sides), outer cab corners (both siders), inner rocker panels (both sides)
- Hood hinge kit (extension + replacement)
- Poly bushing kit for Cab
Overall, truck needs some work. In an ideal world, I'd remove the body from frame and do it from the ground up - but I don't have the time / space / money to replace everything from front to back.
Here looking for guidance. I'm a mechanical / electric novice but not afraid to learn work.
Most of my friends in car clubs stick to bagging their 'coups and Impalas and this will be bagged sooner rather than later - just trying to decide order of repairs / upgrades.
