I am installing the rear end on my k10 today. It has a new Rough Country 4in lift (block) kit that came with new u bolts. I didn’t notice that 1 u bolt is a solid inch shorter than the other 3. Did they send me a wrong part? I can’t think why 1 would be shorter. I checked and all the front ones are the same, about 9 inches. The 3 rears are about 12 inches and the oddball 1 is about 11 inches. Everything is seated where it’s supposed to be, It has to be a wrong part

If you have enough threads to stick out of the end of the nut you are fine. So I was going to say it’s fine but then I looked closer and it looks like you can see light around the u bolt at the axle indicating it’s bent for the wrong diameter tube which is no good. Looks like they got it mixed up with one for another application. I’d give them a call.

You want at least 1 full thread past the nut for the lock nut to work properly. Yours looks very borderline. I’d swap it...

Chuck, I hadn’t even noticed... I went back and checked, the u-bolt is definitely too wide, I’ll call them in the morning

If it was for a larger tube, you would have had to squeeze it together
to fit in the holes of the top bracket.
Yet you say "Everything is seated where it’s supposed to be".
I dunno...

It looks long but is that the big u-bolt for the front?

That looks like a reflection in the paint to me...
Isn’t there a flange right there like a track for the u bolt?
I think it’s the reflection off that...
But I cut my perches off a looong time ago...
so I have nothing to compare to...
So it could be wide

This did happen, it wasn’t much but I did squeeze it.... definitely the wrong u bolt. I called Rough Country and they are sending me out a replacement
