Is this oil pan worth repainting?

So you gonna try that purple stuff? If you do, post some before and after pics. We got the before, I'm curious to see how well it kills the rust. I have a feeling its gonna turn out just fine.

Yep, gonna use the purple power de-ruster. I hope 1 quart is enough for the oil pan. I'll either take rust reformer back and buy another purple power de-ruster quart or try it on some other stuff like inner fenders, battery tray, etc.

Hey, C4

How far does the quart size purple power de-ruster go when brushing it on?

I've done 4 axles, several patches of frame, inside of my bumpers, my homemade grill, a lot of my radiator support and front filler, and several other smaller miscellaneous parts and only used about 1/4 of a bottle. That stuff goes a long long way.

I'd find some nitrile chemical resistant disposable gloves too.

I never used any gloves, but definitely use eye protection if you're under your truck painting over your head with it, you know how a brush can flip paint or something off, definitely don't want this stuff in your eyes. Yeah I couldn't believe it how far it goes. Don't pour too much in the coffee can, just cut a pop can in half and put about 1/8 of the can's worth in it, you probably wont even need that much.

I'll do one tomorrow or Saturday. Calling for rain all day Saturday so it sounds like a good painting day with the garage door up to purple power de-rust the oil pan and prime/paint it.
