Is there a way to tell how much my truck is lifted?

I just bought this truck last week and the previous owner didn't know how much it was lifted. It isn't a huge lift but I would still like to know. Is there some way to tell? Here are some pictures.

I believe you are correct. The rear blocks are right around 2.5".

Rear block has to be measured right in the middle where the centering pin goes, since the block is tapered. But I would agree, maybe 3" lift.

I will jump on this bandwagon and ask the same, but give even less definitive pictures. Just bought this '79 GMC truck and have found some deals on wheel/tire combos ranging from 31s to 35s. I'm confident that the 35s wouldn't fit without going higher, but based on the picture can anyone tell if this is lifted at all (supposedly it has new springs) and whatever lift there is/isn't what the max permitted tire diameter is as-is. Also, is this stance normal - high in front? What's the correction for a flat stance?

I'd say stock height.

As for the high front / low rear stance it's hard even guess since the rear tires are buried to the rim.

Get a better pic on flat ground and another specifically of the front springs.

Just as soon as i actually recieve the truck I'll be glad to. It's in transport to me right now. FWIW I did get word that it currently has 32x11.5x15 tires.

I am surprised with all the trivia knowledge around here about squares that no one seems to know what the stock measurement from frame to top of axle is front and back on a given 1/2, 3/4, 1 ton big block small block, etc!!

From there, just measure yours and compare, and then you know how much lift you have!!

So, what is the stock height?

I have my front in stock height, I can measure it if you want, it is a 77 1/2 ton..

Stock front = +\- 8" from top of axle tube to the bottom of the frame.

So, let's assume that I'm stock height. Apparently the OE size is 235/75/15 (equal to LT29x9-15). The truck currently has LT32*11.5*15. What's the maximum you can put under it without lifting and furthermore, what are the allowable sizes per lift (suspension, NOT body) to not rub at full lock or full compression - that is, a 2.5" lift will allow XXxXX-15, a 4"... and so on.

Rim offset and width are just as big a factor as tire size. For example, similar trucks with the same lift and tires will fit differently if one has stock wheels vs the other with 15x10's.

Look thru this thread for ideas on what size tire works with what size lift. Also look close at the pics for fender trimming.

The bottom of this page has some info as far as lift vs recommended tire size. Also has rim backspacing... but "standard" doesn't mean much to me.
