Hello, again folks
I have a 1978 k10 with 33 inch tires on it,
can you tell me if this has a lift and if so how high?or how to measure it
I dont have the fenders on it to measure from and want to get shocks while the engine and everything is off of it. I'll take any suggestions of what type of shocks to get as well

Yes. Front springs are negative arched if OEM.

Looks like a 4frt/3rear lift kit, maybe.

looks like 4 inch in front . what do the blocks in rear measure ?

will get you a axle to frame measurement when I get home from work

Thank you for the info, I measured the block in the rear and it's 4 inches.
Excuse my ignorance, how do I choose/know what shocks to get for it?
Also, anything else I should do other than grease all the points while I have easy access to everything?

My last truck was a '79 K15 with a 4" lift. Here's the part numbers I used. You can use the numbers to compare measurements. I also did a Tuff Country 3" lift on my K30 and I'm happy how their shocks perform in both trucks.

It also doesn't look look like you have a raised steering arm. I would get one of those too as it will help with bump steer. If you need new tapered washers for the steering arm, the part number is GM #3965138.

Front Shocks - Tuff Country SX8000 # 61231
Rear Shocks - Tuff Country SX8000 # 61301

summit has most brands of shocks for lifted trucks
plus 1 on the tuff country shocks and on the raised steering arm

might only be 3 inches in the front my stock brake lines didn't reach in the stock location, I bought steel lines from summit for a 4-6 inch lift

I would check anything rubber, my 78 was pretty crispy ended up changing ball joints , and steering drag link while doing the lift

I'm just wondering what lift spring that is. I thought most lift springs were more than 2 leaves, and that what that rear strap is angled doesn't look quite right. I think you need to get longer ones. You're out of travel on those. Maybe someone just had the OEM springs re arched. Those look to be OEM springs, but they're not a negative arch.

I have no idea what lift springs they are, The seller didn't have any info on the truck so I'm flying blind

I have a four inch Alcan spring lift and running the rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks and I like em

Nice to be able to adjust the stiffness of the shocks

I wast thinking that too cuz I hear rough country lift springs are fairly brutal.
