It's supposed to be spring loaded, so when you bump it left, it returns to off on its own.
Ah that makes sence i never thought of that, still kinda learnin as this is my first square. Im gunna replace the switch in the near future and then attempt to change the washer pump

That's likely a faulty wiper motor. I hate it when they do that.

I usually stock those GM modules-on used ones I typically replace the electrolytic capacitors with new Panasonic ones of the same value-those are the most common failure part on those old solder PC boards.

The range of delay is 0-37 seconds on the ones I've refurbished and bench tested. They were offered on 78-83 trucks and were a much improved version of the 1977 setup which was the first year for delay wipers-tho the '77 version is not very reliable. I have a handful of used ones and 1 NOS module left on hand. Nobody reproduces them and none are on the GM locator anymore either so basically, they are gone unless you find a used one.

Most likely a faulty switch-I'm willing to bet the potentiometer knob is bad. These things are very touchy-the only other problem that can cause this is a leaking electrolytic capacitor on the circuit board. Those things get weird as they age with use-that's why I replace them.

I just pulled down one of my few remaining NOS pulse delay modules and its a much later design-not like the oe GM one but functions the same-somebody must have re-popped them for GM for awhile it seems back in the day.

Have you tried relocating the wiper arms on the splined shafts, or are they keyed?
