Identify this please

I pulled my dash to replace it and noticed this at the ash tray. First picture is at vent looking at top of ash tray opening. Second is looking up from ash tray.

What is it?

Thanks. I never realized the ash tray had that.
I guess I never opened the ash tray at night.

Or the dash bulb that provides the light is burned out.

The light in the ashtray is very dim, just barely enough to see

I think they only really work with incandescent bulbs, but yeah they don't really do anything. It connects to the top farthest right light pod, when looking at the dash.

Yes, very dim, but mine is working.
