I need a timing light

I decided that I should give the square a tune up, but have no clue what happened to my timing light. Been driving diesels mostly for the last 18 years, and can't even remember when the last time I used a timing light was.

Any suggestions on a reasonably priced light, or what I should look for in one?

I bought a Bosch model 7529 and am happy with it. It was around $100.

Mine’s a Bosch 7527. I’ve been very happy with it, as well, and it was $45.

The 7529 has a tach, but is twice the price. Never had a tach on a timing light before, I suppose it would be handy, but not sure how much I would use it.

Hmm, I wondered why the price was different. It’d be nice if I had a tach on mine, but I’ve never been messing with the timing and thinking how much I need one. I just want the most initial timing I can get that won’t ping going down the road.

It has a tach. It’s a tach/ advance jobby hence the fancy pants part.

Nuh uh it has up and down buttons so I can set my locked in timing lol

Yeah, probably won't be getting that one. Just looking for a decent hobbiest type light. Probably go for a basic one without a tach. Maybe I'll give the Bosch 7527 a try.

Yeah, i always wanted one of those. Damn nice. I just couldn't justify taking out a second mortgage to get one...

Got a cheapo chrome Sears somewhere around here....

I don't mind spending money for something I am going to use a lot, but I don' plan on putting a lot of miles on my squares.
