Unfortunately, I only know of one parts store that still has books on hand. It's several hundred miles from home. I've got a Napa Body Hardware book from 2013 that I have to take with me to the local store when I need to restock.
Local NAPA here still has the big row of books. They are not on the front counter anymore, off to the side wall, but still there.

went to buy parts at a local auto store recently ( CV Boots ) and told they could not supply ( not stocked ) even when we provided make, model, year and OEM part no. Went back with an old aftermarket ( their "home " brand ) box showing part numbers and they found them on the shelf.
Apparently with the "new" on line parts systems, if the stock is entered / inventoried without an OEM part number, it can't be located as the systems are not set up to cross reference by make and model anymore.
God forbid that the parts person might actually recognise the old part you have in your hand, the vehicle it came off, and know what to look for in their shelves ( ! ) ....

OK, hoping to get some additional help.

1985 GMC C2500 with 350 and stock true dual exhaust in 2.5". All original. Cannot find the correct donut gaskets for the exhaust. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have cast manifolds or the tubular stainless ones? I don't know if it makes a difference, but it might.

The donuts you need, are they tapered on both sides or just one? Do you know the ID of the manifold outlets?

Do you know how many parts they'd have to memorize, years, makes, models, and just because it looks the same, doesn't mean it is the same. Then they'd be they morons that sold you a CV boot that was 2mm to big on the axle end.The guy on the counter can't be expected, from memory to be able to visually Identify down to size of an axle boot for a Ford vs. A Subaru vs. A Toyota vs. A Volkswagen or Honda. I've played the open every box on the shelf game before. Name every state. There's only 50 and you've had decades to memorize that. Plus they don't add new ones every year.

That’s aggravating not being able to find them but not surprising either. When the fuel pump died on my 305, I had to go to 7…SEVEN parts stores to find one that carried a small block fuel pump. Thankfully this one had all 3 versions for my year but that was frustrating

There's so much wax in that chocolate, they could be used as emergency candles, just add wicks. Now if candle makers could just make candles this delicious, think how many more candles they would sell.
