I am partial to green, but I have to say some shades of green just gag me and other shades just get the juices going.
And as I get older some of the lights at night are annoying. The dash lights in the wife's car are too many, too bright, the wrong color and distracting. I prefer to have the dash lights very dim. I have no problems seeing in the day or night, but man, when you shine multi colored lights in my face as I'm driving, I'd rather ya throw sand in my face.
So, as I was into the dash for the heater switch and controls, I found (online) a 10 pack of green dash bulbs.
Swapped em out and impatiently waited for night.
Wow, what a huge disappointment. It looked like half of them were not even on, so right then & there I tore the instruments back out, only to find they are all lit up. What gives? White bulbs are fine; green bulbs got no "chooch". It's like something is blocking the light. Disgusted, I closed it up cause the skeeters were trying to harvest a kidney.
Next morning with coffee in hand, I'm back at it. Instrument panel laying on seat, that ugly blue side up.
Then it hit me. Something from my HS graphic arts class popped into my head. That blue dash back side is what reflects the white light but it will block blue light and green is right next to blue in the color spectrum. In fact it's only a yellow away. Haha.
So how to fix it. Well...that rattle can of chrome paint should work. Why not?

Well, that looks kewl. Let's bolt it back in and wait for night...again...
Hot pickles, it worked. And while I was in there, the turn signals, which were green, got a red gel film made for them. (Don't say it...I know..) White switched to green and what was green, ya switched to red...makes no sense. Well, yes it does. A red blinking light is an attention getter and nothing looks more daft than going down the road with a turn signal blinking for miles. And my turn signals are silent...no clicky-click.
