Has anyone used these on a manual? Id order them now if I knew they would clear the bellcrank on my 84 k10.

Nice to know. My Patriot headers (same tubing bends as Doug's) hit the brake and fuel lines near the passenger side motor mount fame bracket. I ended up moving the lines inboard an inch or so, but what a PITA that was.:mad: Should have returned them. At least they tuck up nicely, almost too high. And they use 16 gauge tube and 5/16" flanges.

My truck is an 82 C10, so they may clear the hard lines on different years and/or K models.

Bringing this one back!!

I'm working on replacing my headers because they hang about 3" below the frame and with the truck as low as it is I have less than 3" ground clearance between the header flange and the ground.

Did you have any issues with the being able to remove/replace plugs or plug wires when you installed these?

Bump. If anybody could answer, will these fit a 2wd? Not a lowered truck. Have a bad exhaust leak and figure itd be the perfect time to do headers and exhaust. Dont want to have clearance issues

Just an assumption, I'd think they'd fit a 2wd even eaiser. I can't think of anything that would be in the way. It looks like they'd even clear Z bar linkage for manual trans.

Guys, I hate to bring up a year-old discussion. I bought a 1986 K20 in December, with factory headers and the AIR tubing still connected, but the intake and carb were replaced and the EGR was deleted, rendering the Smog infrastructure useless.

So I want to remove the Smog pump and all the lines/hoses. I'm debating on cutting the tubing @ the manifolds, and attempt to remove the flare-nuts and then put in a plug, but since the flare-nuts been there for 36-years, I'm afraid it will be wasted effort, and I should install the headers that Nasty-LSX did. (Great job and pics by the way!!

My question is, did you have to modify/cut any brackets on the drivers side, for the power steering pump or the A/C compressor for the manifold to bolt up, or was it a direct replacement fit? Thanks in advance if anyone has any guidance, suggestions and/or pictures. I'm wanting to clean up the clutter under the hood. Not looking for racing or high performance modifications, just something to make it easier to work on, remove all the non-functioning components for a daily driver.

Attached is a pic of the truck.

Back when I had my '86, I couldn't get those flare nuts to break loose. When I removed the smog pumps, I simply clamped off the main injection feed to the manifolds, (headers).

On my '90, I pinched off the injection tubes inside of the manifolds.

Thank Bucket. I guess I can remove the headers (manifold), and attempt to remove the flare nuts, but I guess I'm lazy, if I have them off, why not go back with something new. But, to be honest, I never considered removing the manifolds and trying it on the bench. That is certainly easier to work on for sure.

But I'm hoping that if there are no modifications to any brackets if I install the headers, then just do that. A new idea to kick around now.

Yeah, that's why I clamped off the inlets on the '86. I didn't want to remove the manifolds to remove the lines. They were the factory stainless steel ones that are sort of like headers. My main goal was to get the smog pumps and hoses and canisters out of the way. There was just no room for basic maintenance with all that stuff in the way.

On the '90, it was an engine swap and I had the manifolds off anyway.
