Update .....after aggravating me and leaving it sit since Friday and switching the valve to the one off of the white truck I got power steering which I can only assume the hydraboost is working too since the fluid goes threw that first. Still has some bubbles and it's a little bit of a whiny bitch I keep sucking fluid of of the reservoir and bubbles are lessoning after running. So I think I'm on the home stretch with this thing.

Does anyone know if hydraboost master cylinders are different the vacuum assist master cylinders or should I just get one for the 89 R30? It has 4 wheel disc with V10 calipers front and rear.

Probably safer just to order the one from the r30. Never looked closely at the two when I cut up the '87. Left that one attached to the truck so there'd be less leaking on the pavement.

I would assume the the R30 master cylinder has larger reserviors than a K10. I know my '85 K30's is definitiely larger than my '79 K15's was. Even when I did the K20 axle swap in the '79, I used a '79 K20 master. The R30 may also have a larger bore. I've never done a rear disc swap, so I don't know what impact this could have other than possibly making the brakes faster to respond. I guessing you will need some type of aftermarket proportioning valve.

Accually the V10 reservior is larger then the R30...

Sorry I was comparing apple to oranges. Both my trucks have/had cast iron master cylinders. I didn't realize the hydroboost trucks went to plastic sometime after '85.

Aight fella, you talked me into it. I am going to keep the hydro boost.

I'm doing a complete cab swap and the donor cab that I picked up is from a diesel. Some PO had already started building it so it has a new steering box and power steering pump as well as new pressure lines to the hydroboost. I won't have to do any swapping of pedals or brackets or anything. Will just have to move the steering box and pump over to my truck from the donor.

We won't even mention the my current PS pump is leaking.

I’ve got to buy new lines (someone cut the pressure lines. And will need a boost return line and Tee fitting. But it’s a diesel cab so everything’s already bolted up.
