Hello,

I am now the proud owner of a square body! Here's what I got:

1977 GMC K25
400 V* with AT
Sierra Classic trim

It's pretty original, except for a front winch and bumper. It was stored for a long time so the exterior is a bit rough. But I got a great deal on it.

I am having a fuel issue with it, so I'm going to search the forums and post if I can't find my problem discuissed before. I look forward to learning a lot. I've wanted a SB for many years, and the right one finally came along.

John

Welcome! If it's been sitting at all just get the gas out of the tank and clean, even the lines. So many problems with old gas its hard to fix other issues till then. Pretty much chasing your tail.

Welcome. Nice rig. If it's been sitting with our crappy California fuel, the rubber on the accelerator pump has probably gone soft.

Very nice looking truck! Very similar to mine. I would suggest if it has sat for a long time, you should just service the entire fuel system. Drop the tanks and inspect the sending units, they might need replacement. Replace all the rubber lines, fuel pump, and rebuild the carb. You can do all of that for about $100-150 and it likely needs it anyways. I would also make sure you change ALL of the fluids and filters including engine/trans/transfer/diffs. Mine had sat for 13 years and everything was separated and garbage. If yours sat for anything like that, you'll likely have all your seals start blowing out and leaks popping up everywhere when you start driving it.
