How to fix rust on the door jams?

Hey yall, I can proudly say my K10 is almost completely rust free... exceot for the door jams, and as of right now it isnt to bad at all and id like to keep it that way because i really do not want to do a cab swap. So is there any way to fix it?

It's hard to tell, but that looks like it can be blasted clean and repainted. If not, cut a cab up in the boneyard for patches.

I really hope so, once school get outs for summer I'll be able to tear her apart and get paint and body work done and really don't want to have to deal with rust.

You will want to get some rust inhibitor inside that area when you are done.

Personally, if you blast it down to clean metal, I have a CH blaster I got for 20 bucks that works great, but makes a mess, I would just hit it with a quality epoxy paint like SPI abnd call it good.

There is a product called fluid film that works well. I have an extention for aerosol cans. The little red straw type but it's 30" long and spays out the sides from 4 holes. Sort of a 360 degree pattern. It is meant for injecting seafoam deep creep into intake manifolds. It is easy to fish up into all those little nooks and crannies. Works good for me!
