How much you think a rollback is worth

Id be happy if I got it for in the neighborhood of 2-3k (maybe it's worth 5? Being a rollback) hard to say depending on overall condition. But it looks like a deal and something worth while being a square

The corrosion I can see scares me to think what may be lurking underneath. If it runs and drives, I'd put it in the 2-4k range. If it doesn't, it's worth whatever the used bed/rollback goes for.

I'm gonna take a better look at it when we go to pick up buddies truck this afternoon.

Hard to tell in pictures but I think that is a Landoll bed. We had an exact twin to it. Actually, it was the first rollback in our city and forced several other towers to get one. Sold as a kit with bed, frame lengthening section, driveline piece and carrier frame section. One we had was used hard for 10 years. Having a shorter bed limited what it could carry, no Suburbans, crew cabs, ect. "Stinger" as you call it really can't be used for anything weighing more than a VW bug, chassis can't handle it. Additionally attaching anything on back has a LOT more liability.

All that being said, if it was local to me, I would be all over it. Great unit for moving car projects and misc stuff.

It is a landoll deck. I went and took a little closer look and pretty much one is buying a frame and deck. The body is shot. It's got a carbed 350 with a sm465 and pto driven hydrualics. Tires are new but been sitting for 5 years so there probably toast.

Good to know about the stinger. We would be hauling cars couple hundred km. Mostly suvs. Think it would be good for that?

How long is the bed, can you load a pickup truck? From the picture the bed looks short.

You can haul most anything on the stinger. I've seen a lot of people run trailers off the bigger trucks. Makes it a breeze hooking up a trailer. Obviously it's way far back there, and just a 1 ton, so you can't get a bunch of weight on it.

Should be a 17' deck. What do you mean by stinger? Does it have a horizontal tube structure or just a provision for a ball hitch?

Loading 2 vehicles one on the deck and one on the lift [unless both are extremely small] on a 1 ton will overload the heck out of it. Everything is too light. A standard cab pickup will fit, just barely. If it has a winch, no. They are that short. If you are hauling SUV's better pass on it.

To give you some idea, we had several International 4600 series trucks. With 2 larger vehicles they were close to 26k GVW. Given the base truck was heavier but it takes that much truck to haul the weight you're talking about. Even then we couldn't use retreads tires got too hot.
