Yeah, it's been a while since I had one apart. I just was goimg off of the oiling diagram looking for possible opens. The red lifter galleys looked like a good possibility is all.

There's all kinds of possibilities wanna hear a good one, guy I knew was putting the bottom end together and got distracted, when he came back to it later he forgot he had only half a main bearing in, didn't even notice the bearing missing in the cap, lol, took quite a while before he found out why he didn't have oil pressure..

I just checked one pushrod did not seem to be plugged maybe I did plug up the lifters with assembly lube? I was very careful putting together and checking bearing clearances In what order does the oil flow to the parts? I can't imagine after all this time it would not unplug the lifters??maybe it is the primer that's to small? There no oil pushing up threw the gap in the primer and block is that bad?

If you got it in the little feed hole on the side of the lifters could be, would take some pressure to push it through and dissolve, check the diagram I posted for oil flow..

Yea I put lube all over them I sure hope this is my problem cause I think my only option is to pull them now. What do you think is the best way to clean them out? Thanks for the chart!

You can wash them out in solvent, then only put lube on the bottom and oil on the sides.

Take the plunger out, there's a retaining ring on the top, make note of how it comes apart so it goes back together the same way.

Yea these comp cams lifters a lot of the are totally solid and will not budge or depress one bit! Until I pull them apart and reassemble them then they work how they should what is causing this?

That's because they are pumped up, otherwise they won't lift the valve, after you cleaned them there was no oil so they compress easy. Now, if all the lifters were pumped up that means you had oil flowing into the lifters, and you should have had oil coming up through the pushrods onto the rockers, make sure the pushrods are clean and you can see through them, and make sure the rockers aren't plugged, if the pushrods are clean and the hole in the rockers are open you should have oil flowing, at 20lbs oil won't be pouring out but it'll trickle and that means you have oil and you're good to go.
