Need to get rid of some things for college expenses, and I'll probably post at least one or two more times just trying to get a feel for what you guys think about this stuff. I already asked about the Reese Towpower hitch so we're good there. I'm considering getting rid of my big boat, which it's a 1989 Renken 2688, I believe. Haven't looked at the paperwork in a long time, but me and my dad were co-owners, now I'm the sole owner. I really like the boat and would like to get it going at some point, but I know that would be at least several years, and I need money for tuition, fees, etc. It's got OMC 5.0, which I guess is just a Ford 302 marine motor. Only thing that it had wrong with it was cracked exhaust manifolds when it was last ran, but it'll need new fuel and all the other stuff that you do when a car sits. Trailer tires are new. It's got a cabin, and all the goodies that come with boats this size. We paid 14K for the boat, and someone offered my dad 10K a few years ago, but he clearly declined. I'm not totally sure on what I'm gonna get rid of just yet. The Reese hitch is a definite, as is an appx. 35 foot flatbed gooseneck trailer. I'm not ecstatic to get rid of this, but I will if I have to, and there's a 2500 gallon fuel trailer, plus or minus 500 gallons. It's in the same boat as the boat, though. Do you guys think that the boat could fetch 12K, or was the 10K offer more reasonable. I hate to sound greedy, but I'm just trying to make some money off the more extraneous stuff that I can't really do anything with right now so I don't put myself in a financial bind down the road.
