I've pulled out the th350 and replaced it with 700r4. Now I have a used th350. The shop called and asked me what I wanted to do with it. I said just hold on to it. He then said he has a car that might need a good one.

It's stock with a shift kit and the deep oil pan. New filter too. Idk what tc it has in it. It's a good hard shifting transmission. I only replaced it because I wanted overdrive.

What would be a fair price to sell it? I don't want to rip him off but don't want to give it away either. This might be a good way to knock a chunk off my bill. Thanks for your Input.

Not much because they're not highly desired in most applications. I'd assume probably in the $300 range

If it is working good, put it up for sale for around $400 as "used, operating as it should, when you removed it" . If its just a core maybe $150. Just don't leave it in the corner of your shop, or outside, in the dirt, for a couple of years, or it wont be worth anything. (Thats what I always seem to do)

They are getting harder to come by as they get destroyed. The shop knows it is a good working unit, why not ask him what he would offer you for it. A core price could be anywhere from $150-300 depending on location, but a good working one is worth more than core cost, especially since the guy wanting to buy it is the one that removed it from a functioning truck.

I was thinking about 5 or 600 bucks. If you have it rebuilt it's over 1,500 to have that done even if they use your core. To buy one from jegs or something is even more. Just like what was said they're getting more limited supply of cores. It took forever to get my 700r4 from jegs. He said that people are holding on to them or want a bunch of money for them. Probably varies from state to state. Seeing there's no junk yards around here to go get one from too. So it's hard to find them around me. Kinda sux too.

It's a good working transmission. For how many more miles idk. Could be 2k could be 20k who knows. "I know what I have" lmao

Don't ya love that line. It's not gold but I think that's not too much for a good working one. About a third of the cost of a rebuild. See what he says.

Oh found out I gotta buy new hedders too. Mine cracked at the head flange. Any recommendations fir a bbc Gen 4 it's the big oval casting no.14092360

Not gonna break the bank but wanna get a good pair.

I'd definitely get the performance one over stock rebuild. Only about 300 to 700 dollar difference.

I think you did OK at $400. Several years ago I sold one in good shape for $600 including converter, but the guy had ridden in my car and knew it worked well.

Years later I bought one in unknown condition for $150, and sunk around $200 in it for an overhaul kit and rebuilt stock converter. Fortunately, a friend of mine had worked as a GM transmission tech for over 20 years!
