I'm thinking it's a 40 gallon tank. I've never put 40 in it, but I've put over 35.

Adding second tank

Mine is a stepside short bed, 83 and I'm wondering how tough it would be to add the second tank? Any suggestions? I've not seen pics of the overall installation. Tia, Rick

Longbeds can have either 16 gallon tanks or 20 gallon tanks depending on the GVW of the truck (the GVW limiting the amount of fuel that can be carried).

K

Did the longbed trucks that have 16 gallon tanks have a longer fuel filler neck, or did they move the physical mounting of the tank closer to the rear? I ask because right now my 16 gal tank is mounted too far forward for the stock filler neck to reach the opening of the bed.

I was just going to make a longer one out of some hose, but if there is a direct replacement I'll go that route.
