I don't know any French but I'll bang a French chick. My mom's side is French... 11 of the ****** frogs.. too many. They are all dead now except for Uncle Paul, and he is way cool. He's in his 80s.

I do in fact speak Portugese... life can be stranger than fiction let me tell ya.
Lmao. Aw, hell..... That was some funny **** there.... Does kinda sound like my family though. Maybe that's why it seems so funny to me???

I believe the first Square Body came with HEI Distributors so they all have them. If you put HEI in an older vehicle with the points distributor remove the hot wire to the coil, it’s a resister wire. Replace it with a regular wire.heres a picture of an HEI distributor.

HEI is awesome. When you're cranking the engine, the module changes the dwell so the coil produces a really hot spark. Once the module senses the RPM over 400 (engine running), it drops the dwell to standard. It's been around since 1975 so all the kinks are out.

I've seen guys spend a ton of dough on distributor for their engine that never sees 5000 rpm. It's not a race car. HEI is great. When I started as a GM Tune Up Tech in 1974, the old timers groused about "dam electronic crap" and "what's wrong with points? We've had 'em fo hunnerd yars...." but I thought it was awesome.

By the way, in his earlier thread, the picture shows, I believe, a points dizzy.
