Ok, I’m getting kinda frustrated. I seem to have lost the little pin/spring/locking ring for the horn button. No big deal, dorman has replacements. I order one for my 81 GMC. Afte filing the large ring so it will fit into the horn ring, I button it up thinking all is good. No horn!! Pull the steering wheel cap off, the horn will sound if I ground the pin. It doesn’t appear to be long enough to reach the bottom of th horn switch. Does anyone in readerland know how long the pin is, more importantly, does anyone have a extra sitting around, or know of a part number for the correct part? This is the part I ordered. 81 GMC 1/2 with tilt, if it matters

Hey I just had the same issue less than two weeks ago. I could not figure out why it was suddenly an 1/8 inch too short when it was working before. I thought the steering wheel wasn't seating all the way but it was. Turns out I was putting the pin and spring in wrong. I stumbled upon a photo somewhere on this site that exposed my stupidity. The spring does NOT go over the long end of the pin like you would think! The spring drops in the hole first followed by the pin (flange end down against the top of the spring) and then the little plastic sleeve goes over the long end of the pin. Twist the sleeve slightly so the ears capture the notches (like an 1157 bulb) on the extended part of the plastic base. This allows that pin to stickup enough to easily contact the horn ring. If you filed that flat part of the pin off, you're going to need a new one or the pin will just fall down and/or go into the spring. I'll try to find that thread with the pics.

I put new wheel cylinders on the other day, and I put my left rear wheel back on without the drum.

I'm actually about to tear in to my column soon to fix a sloppy tilt wheel. I'm not looking forward to it.
I have all the tools sitting here mocking me, and I have the feeling that I'm too sloppy to go that deep in to this thing without ******* it up. lol....

I once went to boil eggs and forgot about them and went to bed. About 2 in the morning I was woken up by an explosion and **** hitting the kitchen floor. Dumbfounded, I ran to the kitchen to discover eggs eventually explode after the pot goes dry. Blew the lid off and damn near hit the ceiling. Who knew?

I took 2 eggs and put them in a bowl in the microwave once with about 4 layers of saran wrap over the whole thing (you know, because I figured they'd explode).

Well around the 2.5min mark, it exploded the whole glass bowl with enough force to blow the microwave door open and spew boiling egg all over the kitchen.
