I have 2 hookers at home and my wife likes 'em too :D.

They are well made, nice casting and the machined surfaces are very smooth.
I ordered the blank version and painted them with high temp paint (1472°)
Not installed yet, I will post an update how it fits my 74 C20 gen1 350.

Update: They fit perfect. enough clearance at starter, engine mounts, oil filter and frame.

My K10 manifold boltheads are so corroded that if I can even get them off I want to replace these original manifolds with new ones.My concern is casting quality and warpage of todays cast iron manifold replacements.

The hookers are really nice straight and good quality. I had some replacement manifolds which were plain awful.

I don't think I've ever seen the brass nuts used to hold the manifolds on before. Is this something that you've done before and you know it works? I would think the expansion and contraction of the manifold would eventually pull the threads from the nuts?

I got a set of the Hooker manifolds in black. They do fit well, I used the factory bolts. They have thick flanges with a flat gasket on the output, getting ready to fit dual exhaust to them.

@bucket I’ve never seen this on a GM vehicle, but in all my years of working on VWs they were extremely common and reliable. And they always came off easily too.

Yes I'm running brass nuts on my k5 with stock log manifolds since ~11 years. I had to retighten them after the first heat cycle and never touched them again.
The brass nuts come with dorman exhaust manifold stud kits.

Yeah, I've got a bunch of the stud and nut kits, but only ever used them on the manifold outlets. I'm going to try them out on the next manifolds I bolt up.

Will they fit with a full size starter or is the smaller type a better choice?
I'd consider them myself but unfortunately they are not made for a 1985 SBC C10.

I think they will fit with a full size starter but I would be really close. I have a Powermaster gear reduction starter which gives enough clearance all around.
The Hookers are universal so they should fit a 85 C10 with a 305. I can post more pictures or measurements if you want.

These look awesome, too bad they don't have a direct fit option for my truck. Wondering if they can be modified to accept A.I.R for the emissions challenged.

I'm sure a machine shop could drill and tap them for the smog pump.
