Thank you!

This is all 1 bys and 2x4 construction. Distance between the uprights is 8 1/2 inches, the length front to rear of support is 21 1/2 inches. The height from the 2nd tier to the pan rail rest is 7 inches. Total outside footprint is 24" wide by 28 1/2" long. These that I have made are what a Goodwrench SBC came on one from Appleway Chev in Spokane and one from Jegs. The metal tabs on either ends were bolted to the respective ends of the blocks. I believe the 1st pic is the rear and the rear of the block rests on the crosspiece. Glad to answer any other questions. I used old creeper wheels on one end and that doesn't work real good, need better clearances. This is a good base, just need to find your own wheels for mobility. This one has been setting out in the weather, looks like it ,too. OOPs fat fingers double post

exactly. they might be $25 on amazon still. FYI, the one for an SBC 350 will work for a 5.3 LS, just had to flip the mounts I got from dirty dingo. See crappy quality video below.

I had to look those up. They seem to be high quality. Maybe I'll cop a set.

most do dirty dingo or tejas steelworks. Tejas good for clearance for the ac compressor low and the frame. But shifts the everything forward. I went dirty dingo cuz less work modding.

Have any of you guys built a wood engine stand?
Does anybody have engine dimensions?
I think I just need the width of the oil pan and the dimension of the height difference between the high and low point of the oil pan.

Any ideas?

Here is a USA manufactured universal engine stand. Not meant for the weight my Mercruiser 330 HP, Chevy 454, inboards. It did the trick though to rebuild both my 34' Sedan Bridge. The starboard (right side of boat) engine runs clockwise. While the Post (Left side of boat) engine runs counter clockwise. The main difference in the two engines is the cam shaft and and distributor gear. The cam shafts run in opposite directions. Though the distributors both run clockwise. Each engine has a different firing order. 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 and 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

I did make up a test stand out of some 2”X12” left over from my garage builds. I am lowering it with my bridge crane onto the homemade test run stand..

Using a construction crane with a homemade boom to remove and install off a borrowed dock.

Here is the first time these babies were brought back to life. My 12 year old grandson tirelessly worked with me through the process. I saw it fitting that he'd be first to push the make shift start button..
