Pretend it’s WW2 you can come to Connecticut and just push the load off the side of the carrier like they used to, I won’t say anything

They don't sell squat anymore. I used to live near Herlong army base in California, was a munitions disposal site when they were still allowed to blow up old ordinance. There was a dump that the county had where the army took everything waste that they didn't bury (dad was a civil engineer there, said you'd cry at what went underground so they could spend the last of their budget money). I remember one time that they got new quads to patrol the site on and they took 12 older still working quads, stacked 'em in a big pile and torched them at the dump at night so you didn't see nasty black cloud. Nothing but a twisted pile when I looked at them in the morning. :emotions122: Dad said they were not allowed to sell stuff to the public in auctions, and so that they didn't loose how much budget money they would get the next year, they would spend every last penny and get rid of the old stuff this way.

Hmmm... 2003-2010 when I was at Ft. Hood, stuff like that went to DRMO. You could go down there and try to buy it, or if it was more expensive stuff it would go to the online auctions. When we were getting ready to come back from afghanistan you could get all kinds of stuff. I had a buddy that bought a whole pelican case of 12 ACOGs for something like $150. All he had to do to ship them back to the states was show them the hand receipt.

Damn @SquareRoot , if I was closer, I'd say lemme get my 18ft trailer, we'll just winch the stack up on the deck, you do patrol.

Leave'em a metal container with 400$ in it.

A couple years ago I talked to a guy that sold one of the "unicorn-rare" Dana 60's from a 68-72 C20 Suburban for $1,100. The buyer lived in Florida, flew out, rented a truck, bought the D60 and drove back to FL. It is rare because it has the panhard bar mount cast into the passenger side of the pumpkin which allows for a big dowel to be bolted in for the panhard bar.

Chevrolet will have kingpin caps.

Quickest, easiest way to identify one under a Chevrolet.

Same here. Most people nowadays are strictly talking about D60 fronts. When I talk about D60 it is rear because I have that, not a D60 front.

Take note of the 4 bolts holding the cap down.

The cap is what traps the kingpin, bushing, and spring all together.... Which in turn holds the knuckle to the axle tube.

The lower kingpin looks different, but still the same 4 bolts holding the cap on.

Some early dodges had them.
Like, some of the super early 60's ford's had them, the most commonly Known ford's were 76-78ish, 87-91.5.

And Chevrolet used dana 60 from 73-91 in 1 ton (I think) although I have seen early 70's squarebody k30's with a dana 44 in the front.... So I'm not 100% on that.

Only other axles I know of that use kingpin is Rockwell 2.5 ton, 5 ton, and axle tech and meritor, Clark, Pettibone, and many of the other HD axles rated 1 ton capacity and up.

When you get Past 1 ton, cheesy nylon bushings aren't used anymore. But rather bronze, brass, etc etc.

This is what bribes are for....period.Not telling anyone to break the law,but they don’t make GM Dana 60’s anymore and they are expensive.

if it was I,I would give him 800 per Dana and call it a day.
