Hi All,
Just like to say thanks for welcoming me to your forum.
Live in Victoria, Australia. Retired, a "tinkerer" at heart, first venture into Chev trucks, so go easy on me if I post in the wrong sub-forum.
Picked up a 1975 C30 tray truck a week or so ago, stock standard SBC350/SM465/14 bolt on dual 7.50 X 16" wheels.
Needs a windscreen , a couple of tyres, and shouldn't be that far off going for a roadworthy to put on club plates. A "weekend warrior", so to speak. Surprisingly for over here, only a few minor rust spots. Locally assembled job from imported parts. So far have found most replacement parts relatively easy to source, don't know yet about prices although a few items I have bought seem to be very competitive.
Cheers, Dave64

Thanks Guys!,
Well, here be the beast, taken a week ago before I bought it home. Awaiting the windscreen man as I write.

I do have a query for you technically minded people, which I have not seemed to have been able to have answered satisfactorily anywhere else.

Not related to my particular jigger, but in regard to GMC/Chev's use of the NEW PROCESS transmission between 1968 and 1972. It took a while to track down, but downloaded the workshop manual for this particular unit and althouigh very descriptive DOES NOT unfortunately give OEM numbers.

I have here a NEW PROCESS NP435GA, that is the close ratio (4.56:1 FIRST GEAR)transmission, have been searching so far unsuccessfully for an input shaft and/or an input shaft housing. Have come up with several designations, but always seem to lead me to the NP435 with the deep (6.68:1 FIRST GEAR).
NOT THE ONE I'M AFTER!

Had various responses, only ever came out in GMC, only ever came out in the Vee Six, only ever came out in camper vans and/or school buses etc etc etc.

I only need to get onto one (TWENTY-TWO tooth input shaft/input shaft housing and I can have mine up and running).
They also seemed to have come out in two variations, a roller race version for possibly the larger diameter shaft, and the tapered roller type, which is the one I'm hunting for.

If anyone has any leads, it would be appreciated. As I said, don't have a GM part #, but have the original shaft dimensions for verification.

Thanks, Dave64
