Hello
Came here looking for some info sourcing an ignition issue on one of my 79 C10's. Figured I should join and participate
I have had different c10s for the last few, maybe 5, years. I currently have two 1979 Shortbed c10s. one custom deluxe and one Silverado.
Silverado has a 307 from an olds in it. It looks rough on the outside, but the interior is rehabbed significantly, and the engine bay is nice and clean. 5/8 drop kit. Got from a lovely guy in Wisconsin
Custom deluxe I got stock with a 6cyl and manual trans. I converted to an TH350 auto and replaced the engine. I had a 350 out of another car project that I had rebuilt and overbored +.033. The exterior of this one is in much better shape, (personally, I prefer the silverado) and the interior is all new, too. 3/5 drop kit
I love working on them and wish I had a lift to do everything. I had a great shop down here in Woodland Hills, but that guy has decided, like much of California, to move to Texas. If anyone has a good recommendation for a good speed shop in this neck of the woods (north of Los Angeles, about an hour), I'd greatly appreciate it.
That Silverado is getting a new motor this year, and I'd like to find someone who has as much fun with these trucks as I do.
