I have been drooling over custom square body trucks for as long as I can remember and have decided to get into one. I am hoping to find a clean solid 2wd short project or partially started truck. Any tips on where to search would be appreciated. Looking forward to snooping around the site.

Willkommen! I found my square on Craigslist. Took forever to find one that wasn't victimized by the previous owner(s). My advice have the cash on hand and be ready to pounce when you find "the one". I was narrowly beaten to the punch on at least 3 and one in particular haunts my dreams. It was a '79 Silverado short wide 2wd, orange over white with a very nice and complete interior that wasn't roached. I even tried to buy it from the guy that bought it for $2k over what he paid - no dice!! I will kick myself to no end over that one.

Thanks for the welcome! I hear you Soundmound, been there many times. I have a feeling my achilles heal will be my location. I really want to get one from down south so it’s not rusted to pizz. My advice is to troll Craigslist and Marketplace daily. The good trucks don't last more than two or three days up here. Anything that's older than a month is still sitting around for a reason.

I troll regularly for my next K10 or K20. I'll keep you in mind if I see any nice 2wd stuff come up locally.
