Hey guys my name is Justin. I am a newb to square bodies, but far from a newb in the automotive world. I currently work from GM in their Parts catalog area known as Partech. I have always loved the squarebody trucks and I will be doing as much research before buying a C10 Silverado or Sierra. I know that i want one that is a v8 already as i dont want to deal with converting either an I6 or V6 lol, and it would have to have an automatic as well, as I have health issues that stop me from driving a manual. Is there any years to avoid?

No it's not too hard to find with a v8 for sure. The hard part is finding a decently rust free one, I will more than likely go out of state to get one.

I don't think you're going to get anyone here telling you to avoid a certain year. There may have been some that had some quirks over others, but by and large, most of us are fans of all the years here. Some like the round eyes more than the later models, but overall we like them all here.
Good luck in your search! Let us know if you have questions. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here (myself not included in that group) about these trucks. You're sure to get an answer from someone on pretty much any question.

Welcome...Arizona,New Mexico and West Texas are a good bet for rust free squarebody trucks.If I was going to say a year,I’d say 87’,only because it was the last year for pickup trucks.

yeah I love the round headlight trucks. and I need to be able to either pick the truck up in a weekend or if I cant I'd have to get it shipped to me.
