Hey guys and possibly gals, I'm Chris, I'm looking at buying an 86' what I believe to be a C10, and figured if I wasgonna buy it, I better go search up a forum to research them on, so here I am. I don't know how to do a whole lot mechanically, but I know some, and I've done plenty of research on CSB's and big blocks. haha I figured I'd post the link and see what y'all think. It'd be a project truck, definitely gonna get a lift and at minimum some 33's. Thanks!

Looks like a heck of a deal if it's a fairly new goodwrench motor. I would check the frame over with a fine tooth comb for any cracks since it has that plow frame on it.

I would just check the area around where the mount hooks to the frame. These trucks don't have real heavy duty frames and I've seen those plow mounts rip a frame apart if the guy was hard on it.

Check inside the framerail behind the steering box for cracks too.

If the frame is good, I would probably buy it personally. I paid $800 for mine and it has a worn out 305 and needs a clutch.

Hahaha oh man. What are the possible negative outcomes? Could I lose an axle shaft, or fluid, or would all my brakes go?

Just take a look at the rear of the wheel's backing plates and see if they look wet. If there is a puddle on the ground then I would be wary. But if they just wet check you brake fluid level. And just take you time and drive safe. Once the brakes warm up they might not grab as hard. Could just be moisture too.
