I haven’t done much with LEDs myself. I do know they can be tricky with turn signals especially. LEDs are diodes which means electricity can only flow one way. Side marker turn signals actually flow both directions depending if headlights are on or not.

Also LED turn signals also can require a special flasher. (Which you knew) They don’t pull enough amps to heat the original flasher to make it work.

Maybe someone who knows more will jump in.

I’m going to replace the signal switch right now. IDK what else to do & now I have no turn signal lights at all. Both outside and the little indicators inside.

Does anyone know what the purple and yellow wires plug into? Found it loose coming from steering column.

Purple & Yellow — maybe Transmission neutral starter & backup lamp switch. — or if manual then clutch start interlock.

It’s not long enough to go where neutral safety switch is, but there is already a plug there. Not long enough to get to fuse box. Now that I dropped that column to do turn signal switch, I still don’t see an empty spot to plug it.

Oh, and the signal switch didn’t work. Is it possible to ruin one of these led flasher relays? I ask because with new one plugged in, now I get zero lighting with turn signals. I put the old relay back in and it went back to the lighting up, but no blinking.

What do the turn signals do with
1. Headlights off?
2. Headlights on?
3. Do the hazards work?

@Jgonick so, with lights off solid on and same with lights on.

Hazards don’t work with electronic flasher in there, but this is the one I am wondering if it got damaged. Im going to buy another one in the morning and check again.

Decent video explaining electronic flasher when switching to LED turn signals- (even though it’s a jeep). He explains possible polarity issue etc.. the same model flasher can also be used in c10s

I'll also mention the side marker lamps and why LEDs are sometimes a problem. The current goes both directions depending on whether the headlights are on or not. Hopefully someone who has changed theirs out to LEDs can explain how they did it.

@Jgonick, maybe the new flashers I bought were wrong polarity. Idk. I’m ordering the ones in the video, since they come with the piece to reverse polarity.

Quick question? Are these wires the ones to radio?

Flasher problem solved, but of course another gremlin comes out.

1. Hazards on- drive front doesn’t flash
2. With headlights on- you can barely notice flash from rears, but brake lights are a lot brighter.
