I've got my dads 1979 Silverado 4wd thats been sitting in a barn for 15 years with the motor blown. I got a rebuilt motor and had a guy install it for me. Well long story short, he took an all original truck and lost or left off a bunch of stuff.

So the motor runs good now, the 4wd is functioning, the transmission shifts, and it has brakes (but they are soft). Will get to that over the weekend.

The guy took off the ac and tried to tell me brackets are missing. Well i have all the brakets now but no hardware. I can go buy what ever I need but does anyone here have a list of the bolts I will need? The brackets that bolt to the ac compressor are still in place and the bracket that bolts to the intake is on it. but I will need to source the rest. Not worried about getting the AC to work yet, just want to bolt it back on and get the lines connected back.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Going by the diagram above for the A6 compressor mounting (the long, heavy boat-anchor compressor):

First establish the three mounting points on the engine.
- Bracket 23 bolts to the front of the engine, using three bolts about 1" inch long
- Bracket 1 bolts to the top of the intake manifold. According to the picture these should be only about 7/8" long.
- Bracket 2 bolts to two of the bolts on the exhaust manifold, and you will need to get longer bolts. Bolt it on so that the pivot hole on the bracket is up and toward the fender.
Then bolt brackets 8 and 13 onto the compressors. Note, that the bolt size is smaller on one end or the other.

Now hold it up into place and orient the eye on bracket 8 so that it lines up with the pivot hole in bracket 2. This is the bottom pivot. As you rotate it up it should obvious how the two adjustment bolts line up to go through brackets 8 and 13 to hold it in place.

The picture below of mine shows mostly the front, but will give you an idea of the overall mounting.
