Oh, I was thnking this was whole truck. Stil worth $900, but I'd make him take $750, at least try. Find out how bad he wants to get rid of it.

nope not the whole truck, but it is MINE now lol. Gonna go see what gear ratios they have in them in a little bit. If its a 4.56 ratio its going in my truck, if its just a 4.10 ratio then its more thenlikely gonna get resold.

The turbo 400 is a clean transmission also fluidwise and exterior of transmission. Same as the NP205 it is the racetrack pattern.

Now I just gotta figure out what the TH400/NP205 Is worth, I have no use for them and know they are both highly sought after so whats your guess?

EDIT: Oh yea the bed is still in arkansas, it wasnt just surface rust hell the bubbled spots were bad enough my finger went right thru them.

So was it Dana 60 Front??? I'd be rockin a 4.10 Dana 60 too or doing a gear swap. I'm sure you got that thing for next to nothing, so you can afford to spend some cash on it, especially considering it would be like brand new after you got done swapping gears and bearings.

yea mine is a 1 ton but it only had the dana 44 in it now, and 4.10 gears I WANT 4.56 gears.

My 96 has 4.56 gears in it. with the tire size it had 4.10s would be fantastic, but with the tire size my 85 has it NEEDS the 4.56's

If that chassis don't have 4.56's that you need, and your D60 front is going to be available, I might know someone that has a 14b Full Float 1 ton rear axle with 4.56,s, Detroit Locker and Disk Brakes out of a CUCV that might consider a trade.

In fact, I know someone that has a whole body to put on that whole chassis and 4.10's would be just fine, 3.73's would probably be OK too but not preferred. !!!

Did you ever find out what year chassis it is for sure?

the guy said that he was told it was an 85 chasis. Somebody already proved that it was a 70's because of the horns. Also the wheels are 16.5" but then again they are also aftermarket cause there alluminium 10" wide rims with 33 12.50's on them.

It doesn't really matter the year of the chassis just so long as you know which it is. The only things are, to use an 81 up body, you'd have to use the older body mounts, and the older bumper due to the horns, or mod the horns.

You don't have to pull covers to find gear ratios. But, I figured it was 4.10's That's the most common, a few were 3.73 and 4.56's were rare by the late 70's and 80's. 4.56's were real common in the early to late 60's. What are you gonna ask for the axles and frame?
