HELP motor mount issue

Look at pictures. To make a long story short, rebuilt this 85 chev k20 about 10yrs ago. It has a 70’s style frame because that’s all I could get at the time. The motor is a 79’ 350 and the rest of the body is an 85’.
HERE is the problem. Need to replace motor mounts and trans mount and have never seen these motor mount brackets before. The front hole is off center and the mounts I ordered and that are on there now have 4 bolt holes. If I order new brackets and mounts should I go with the 70’s style 3 bolt or the clamshell ones? Having a hard time trying to figure out what to get that will actually line up right.

I'm not sure what going to be correct for you, but I'll give you this for a reference. Here's my '85 K30 454 mount. Two bolts on top, one in the bottom in the center location.

I'm not sure what the problem is or that you are trying to solve... these are the standard SBC/BBC mounts and clamshells for all 70's-up engines. All K series squarebodies would use a 2292 mount for the 350 and a 2395 for the 454 regardless of year. They will interchange and work fine with each other though as long as you have the right clamshell bolted to the engine itself.

Take those off clean up the outer clamshell and get some new inserts put them back on! The picture is an example there are several brands and they come in different materials. If the outer clamshell is damaged follow @Bextreme04 thread for the proper mount.

are the engine side clamshells have part numbers on them to ID? or visually denoted somehow

I will look and see if I took pictures of the clamshells that I cleaned and had powder coated.

I've got 454 and 350 clamshells sitting in my shop right now, right next to each other too... I hadn't bothered to look at them close enough to see if they have part numbers on them or visible differences in the mounts.

I have only anecdotally heard stories of people using the 350 clamshell on a 454 swap and having them not bolt to the truck. When they swapped to the 454 clamshell, the motor bolted right to the original 350 mounts in the truck.

I just threw this up for the parts numbers. When I bought my truck it came with a bucket full of extra parts two being the inner rubbers of the clamshell 454 mounts. I rebuilt my mounts with those aftermarket ones. They were sturdy as f—k. But sunnof—b. I had to press them together to get the bolts through. They fit my 6.2 nicely.

@sirweesarunch,

As an avid fan of Energy Suspension products I can attest that their products sometimes need some "adjustment", and sometimes you have to force the poly into the part. They produce so much product that it's not possible to get them perfect for each and every year truck and car. But they do a amazing job at getting it right most of the time.

Okay, I'll ask the obvious question...how did that frame get pink? Is the truck pink? Did you paint it or buy it that color? It looks old, I'm guessing so my guess is it was already that color. Close?
