Help! Cheap tailgate hinges

(‘81-‘87 Tailgate)I’ve tried 3 sets of tailgate hinges from 3 different vendors and they’re all cheap ! Extremely thin metal, especially on the cup (trunnions) that attach to the bed. The metal quickly deforms and causes a sloppy fit. They don’t fit together snugly and there’s just too much play in the hinge. Does anyone know of a Quality hinge set?
At this point I don’t care if they’re pricey, I’m considering fabricating my own hinges.

*Following* I'm having a similar issue. I have a "newer" tailgate and older hinges so the cup and boss don't fit together. There are plenty of solutions online but they all look pretty cheap. I'm eager to see what you come up with. Like you, i'm about to fab my own.

Update: I’ve decided to go with 2 Left side Hinges and a set of Rubber/Urethane Trunnions. It will make the tailgate Non removable but it will solve the problem.

The vendor does have a set that fits ‘73-‘80
Also be sure to buy the best quality hinges(tailgate side) There’s different ones and some are very poorly made and don’t last.
